Description:
The scene depicts a group of the surviving B-17s that have made it back from a bombing run, somewhere over Germany, during the months that it was used to deliver tons of bombs on a variety of targets.
This B-17 has the markings of the 398th Bombardment Group (Heavy) that was assigned to the 8th Air Force stationed in England. The trip back over, the "White Cliffs of Dover," as seen in the distance. Home was not far away.
