Painting focal point depicts AFSPC Security Forces entry controllers reviewing an entry authorization list at Keesler AFB a week after Hurricane Katrina impacted the area in early September 2005. I deployed as a public affairs officer with embedded media from Cheyenne and Denver with security forces and helo crew members from Air Force Space Command. I had the opportunity to assist and record AFSPC airmen support at Keesler AFB and in the Biloxi area. AFSPC security forces members at Keesler could take some time to assess their personal situations, take care of their families and get their affairs in order. This was the first time AFSPC airmen deployed in support of a humanitarian crisis within the U.S.
