Se-5a: First Delivered In Spring 1917 The Se-5 With Its Liquid Cooled Engine Served In 24 British, 2 U.S. And 1 Australian Squadrons. American Elliot Springs Flew With Col. Bishops No. 85 Squadron Before U.S. Squadrons Were Ready. On June 5, 1918, Led By Bishop He Return To The Ypres Front Where, The Day Before He Almost Got Killed By A Flight Of Black Pfalz D-3s And Shot Down One Of The Same Pfalz Flight For His First Victory. He Later Became U.S. Squadron, 148th Top Ace With 12 Victories Flying Camels. Col. Bishop Survived The War With 72 Victories As Top Canadian Ace.Pfalz D-Iii: A Bavarian Fighter Of Spring 1917 That Flew On The Front Till Wars End. It Was An Excellent Diver And Used For Balloon Attacks. 46 Jastas Used This Fighter And Some 433 Were At The Front In April 1918.
