The Fokker Dr-1 Triplane Reached Front Just After The Sopwith Triplanes Were Withdrawn Late In 1917. The Two Gun Dr-I Was Also Highly Maneuverable. It Reached Its Peak In May 1918 When 171 Were At The Front, 69 Were Still In Service At The Wars End. Shown, Is 48 Victory Ace, Werner Voss, Who On Sept. 23, 1917, Flying Alone In A Dr-I Attached An All Ace Flight Of Seven Se-5as Led By British 47 Victory Ace James Mccudden And Out Fought All Seven British Aces For 20 Minutes Until 23 Victory Ace Rhys David Managed To Dive On His Tail And Kill Him But Almost Ran Into Him And Swerved To Miss Him, Missing Seeing Him Crash. Only Jim Mccudden Flying Above In The Dusk Saw Him Crash.The Se-5a The First Two Gun British Fighter Was An Excellent Dog Fighter And Gun Platform. By Wars End, Almost 2,700 Se-5as Were Equipping The R.A.F.
