Martinsyde G-100 Called The Elephant By Pilots Because Of Its Large Size It Was Designed As A Long Range Escorts Fighter By The British. A Failure As A Fighter Plane It Was Soon Transfered To Other Duties And Did Become Successful As A Light Bomber.Sopwith 1-1/2 Strutter Is Another Of The British Long Range Escorts Fighter Designs This Too Was Unsuccessful As A Fighter Plane, But Became A Widely Used General Purpose Plane And Light Bomber. Almost 6,000 Werer Built By British And French Industry And It Was Also Used By U.S. Aero Squadrons Until Mid 1918. The Strutter Was Built In Both Single And Two Seat Versions.
