This British, Prewar, Single Seater Was Unarmed, But Captain Hawker Armed His With Side Firing Rifles, And Began Attacking German Planes With It. On July 25, 1915, Hawker Attacked Three Armed Albatros C-1 Observation Airplanes Destroying One, Damaging Another, And Driving The Third On Away To Win The Victorial Cross Medal. He Went On To Become The First British Ace.Another Unarmed British Single Seat (Sopwith Tabloid) Scout Airplane That Was Occasionally Armed By Its Pilots, Is Shown Flying Above Captain Hawker. It Was Originally Designed As A Racing Plane.
