Somewhere Over West Texas, KC-135 (591483) Of The 7th A.R. Sqn., Nicknamed Thunderbolt, Prepares To Refuel A B-52h, Also From The 7th Bomb Wing...Both A/C Based At Carswell AFB, Fort Worth, Texas. The Date Of This Mission Was 5-16-88; The Artist Was Along For The Flight On The Tanker (Call Sign Ethyl-94). What Made The Biggest Impression On Me Was The Pride These Men Took In Their Job(s) And Aircraft. The KC-135 Crew Was Top Notch From Boomer To Instructor Pilot And Eveyone In Between. Although Hurricane Gilbert Was Approaching From The Southeast, The Planning For This Mission Was first Rate, And Accurate Weather Data Allowed A Problem-free Sortie. To Watch These Two Giants Gracefully Rendezvous At 30,000 Feet Is Truly Awe Inspiring.
