Like Anyone Or Anything That Has Served Its Usefulness And Is Retired, It Stands Proud--Going Out In A Blaze Of Glory. The B-36 Had Served Us Magnificently Without Every Droping A Bomb In Anger. Not Only That, The B-36 Was The Transition From Prop To Jet Aircraft. It Was The End Of An Era. When They Were At Davis-Month Air Force Base, Arizona, Men Who Had Flown It Would Go Out On The Desert And Search For Their Planes In The Storage Area Just To See It For A Last Time. Slowly The B-36 Was Dismantled And Cut Up In Order To Salvage The Metals. Finally, Only One Remained. Standing Proudly There It Reminded Us Of Our Bloodless Victory With It As Deterrent And Of Our Duty For The Future.
