Depicts raid by 90th BG B-24s on refineries at Blikpapan, Borneo, Oct. 10, 1944. Unusual 2400 mi. round trip required Bomb-Bay tanks, limited bomb load. Painting shows the instant a Japanese "Shoki" (Tojo) managed to drop a small W.P. bomb on a B-24 in flight. Artist's brother was flying plane just above to left, and made it back to Biak with major flak damage but no injuries. Planes were described as flying 5 ft. wingtip to wingtip and almost nose to tail.
