This Painting Depicts A Flight Of B-24s From The 727 Bomber Squadron, 451st Bomb Group H. Flying Out Of Italy--Over Targets In Germany, 1944.The Wing Commander Was Ltcol. John Jack Hoppock. 42 Kay Was His Personal Markings (42) Was The Number Of His Graduation Class From Flight School, And Kay Is The Name Of His Wife. Kay Hoppock Is An Active Member Of The Midwest Air Force Artists Group. She Served With The Red Cross Duirng WWII. The Aircraft Are Still Silver Because They Had Just Arrived And The Squadron Hadnt Fully Painted Them Except For The Redtails.
