In support of the Global War on Terror, the United States armed services and allies have become increasingly reliant on Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). These UAS exhibit capabilities of long endurance and high altitude, coupled with high rates of data collection and transmission, providing immediate battlespace awareness and decision-making support, as well as precision lethal engagement with enemy forces.
