"Please Observe" is a painting of the World War II observation plane designated O-47. The painting is a composite of cuts, rips, tears, India ink, pencil, ball point pen, Pelican inks, acrylic, gouache, spray can paints, and marker. Sand paper was used to bring out undercoats of color. My intent was emotional and not to reconstruct reality although the airplane does exist in its half refurbished state. Source material were numerous: photos from books and personal aircraft files, but the main source was an underexposed slide of an aircraft in a hangar at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio, circa 1979.
