The painting depicts an HH-43B Huskie helicopter sitting on the ramp. My Dad, Major Edward A. DuChene (1931.2016) flew a number of different aircraft during his Air Force career (1950-1970), but always said the “Huskie” was his favorite. He flew HH-43’s at Stead AFB, NV Sheppard AFB, TX, Nha Trang AB Vietnam, Kirtland AFB, NM and Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ. He served as a Detachment Commander and was a Command Pilot with over 1000 hours in the "Huskie" alone.
