Kyushu Is The Large Island In The Southernmost Part Of Japan That Helps Form The Inland Sea. It Is A Land Of Terraced Valleys, Dark Mountains, White Sandy Beaches, And Crowded Cities. The Speeding Jets Contrast Sharply To The Ancient Ways Of Life In The Rice Paddies And The Fishing Villages. This Painting Was Prompted During The Artist's Helicopter Trip Between Sasebo And Fukuoka, Japan.
