Lt. General Arthur C. Agan, Commander of the United States Air Force, Aerospace Defense Command, flew YF-12A, 06934, from Edwards Air Force Base, California. The General makes it a point to frequently fly current and advanced fighters. After the YF-12A flight, he said, "Within thirty-four minutes after take off, we intercepted a target one thousand miles away. In my opinion, the YF-12A is the most advanced fighter-interceptor in the world. It is practical, maintainable and can defend against hostile bombers and air-launched missiles for many years to come."
