Lockheed's C-5 Galaxy is a heavy logistics transport and is currently the largest aircraft in service anywhere in the world. It has been operational with the Military Airlift Command since 1969. The C-5 Galaxy is capable of transporting eight complete F-5 Fighters on a single mission. The C-5 has served on many mercy missions, as well--flying food and medical supplies to flood-torn Chile and Bangladesh and flying evacuees from Vietnam.
