The USAF Is Charged Not Only With Mission Of Air Defense Early Warning In The Far-Flung World-Wide Outposts Of The U.S., But Also With The Corollary Missions, Such As Favorable Public Relations With The Natives Of These Areas. Different Cultures Are Thrown Together, Often Requiring Delicate Handling Of Situations.Depicted In This Painting Is A Group Of Eskimos Who Are Visiting An Air Force Base. The Children Are Being Oriented To A Culture Far Removed From Their Ancestral Culture Of Dog-Sled Transportation, Ice-Huts And Isolation. Through Friendly Indoctrination By The Air Force And Invitation To Participate In The Air Force Activities In The Alaskan Air Theater, The United States Continues To Spread The Doctrine Of A Free World Which, Here In Alaska, Is But A Few Miles Away From The Communist World.
