Commissioned by Pratt & Whitney military engines and presented to the Air Force Art Collection, this is a Ferris oil painting on canvas titled "Powering Freedom". It depicts (then) current key US Air Force aircraft powered by P&W engines. These are the F-35A Lightning II in the foreground, the F-22 Raptor next, followed by the F-16C Block 52, the F-15E Strike Eagle, and in the distance, the C-17. All are seen over the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Cape Hatteras, North Carolina.
