Description:
The artist was privileged to fly with the 4th Fighter Wing's 335th Fighter Squadron in a four-ship air-to-air training exercise off the coast of North Carolina in February 2000. The aircrews, veterans of the bridge destroying missions to Belgrade, Serbia, had briefed the artist on the tactics and stand-off weapons involved, while showing the weapons video of the targets as they were being destroyed. "Nowhere to Hide" was designed to show the F-15E Strike Eagle as configured for the Belgrade mission. Fully loaded with two 3000 pound AGM-130, rocket propelled stand-off precision guided weapons, an array of AIM-120 AMRAAM, AIM-7M Sparrow and AIM-9M Sidewinder missiles, the F-15E provided its own counter-air capability. The leader and his wingman are seen at sundown enroute from Aviano Air Base, Italy, to their targets, displaying their conformal fuel tanks, navigation, targeting, and data link pods. The impressive range and all-weather accuracy of the Strike Eagle and the reach of its weapons leave any potential enemy with: "Nowhere to Hide!"
