These A-37s, designed for Counterinsurgency Operations, are attacking a Viet Cong hideout southwest of Saigon near the Mekong Delta. They took off from Bien Hoa Air Base. Capabilities of these aircraft include close air support, armed escort for troop-carrying helicopters, combat air patrol for truck convoys, armed reconnaissance, and night interdiction. The B-Model has a 7.62mm minigun installed in the nose and can be refueled from the air.
