This Particular Plane Was One Of The Three Last B-17s Remaining In The Far East Command.I Have No Record Of Its Serial Number Except That The Last Three Digits Were 555, Which Gave It The Nickname Triple Nickel, By Which It Was Known All Over The Far East Command. No Attempt Has Been Made To Portray The Particular Navigator Who Was Captain Van Hersett.
