Colonel David C. Schilling Was Born December 15, 1918 At Leavenworth, Kansas. He Commanded The 56th Fighter Group Scoring 23 Victories In The Air And Destroying 10 1/2 Planes On The Ground. Later He Was Assigned As Assistant Director Of Intelligence For The 8th Air Force Then Chief Of The Technical Division Of The Aaf. He Has Received The D.S.C. With 8 Clusters The Air Medal With 19 Clusters The Presidental Unit Citation With Cluster The French Croix De Guerre With Palm The American Defense Ribbon The American Theatre And The European Theatre With 5 Combat Stars.
