These F-84s Were Part Of A USAF Fighter Squadron At Aviano Air Force Base Near Pordenone In The Mountains Of Northern Italy. The Site Was Spectacular By Its Proximity To The Dolomites, A Truly Rugged Mountain Area Of The Alps Which Competes Only With The United States Grand Tetons In The Jackson Hole Country Of Montana And Wyoming. Despite This Beauty, Extreme Caution Was Used In Bad Flying Weather, Since Strict Discipline Was Imposed On The Fighter Pilots Of The Squadron To Prevent Any Mishap In The Mountains.
