Mr. Stencel was assigned to represent the activities at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, TX from 6-11 July 2010. Mr Stencel has chosen to depict in his watercolor painting what the 37th Training Wing recruits were experiencing during this hot, summer period of Basic Training. The painting represents an African-American female airman recruit navigating the "low crawl" sand pit. Mr. Stencel has portrayed the determination that this airman has in her eyes, focusing on the completion of Basic Training. Stencel has borrowed his title from the famous Civil Rights movement's mantra "Keep your eyes on the prize"
