Thousands Of Flood Victims Were Rescued Due To The Heroic Efforts Of The Air Force Helicopter Crews. Almost One Million Pounds Of Clothing, Food And Supplies Were Airlifted To The Nagoya Disaster Area. Red Cross And Japanese Air Force Rescue Units Also Assisted In The Operation. Without This Spirit Of Cooperation, Countless Lives Undoubtedly Would Have Been Lost. It Is The Japanese Peasant, Particularly, Who Shall Be Forever Grateful To The United States Air Force For Its Major Contribution To This Mission Of Mercy."
