An artist's conception of what a mid-1960s ELINT or Air Sampling Mission, Conducted By The USAF, Off The Coast Of The Kamchatka Peninsula, USSR, May Look Like. The RB-57f Is Depicted High Above And At Oblique Angle To, Maybe Petropavlovsk. The National Insignia Was Omitted To Add A Clandestine Flavor To The Scene. The Painting Was Inspired By An Article I Had Read And Picture I Had Observed In The Atlantic Flyer, Vol. II No. 3, Pg 28--May 1996. This Subject Matter Has Always Interested Me And With The Recent Declassification Of Intelligence Gathering Means, I Thought This Painting May Pay Tribute To Those Who Served Quietly.
