In order to get more factual experience in a growing Air Force--Hap Arnold, with a group of Martin Bombers (B-10s), made a long distance flight to Fairbanks, Alaska, from Washington, D.C. in 1934. During this period, flights were done to test the capabilities of such aircraft to the extent of its usefulness. Pictured here is Hap Arnold receiving the Key to the City from the Mayor of Fairbanks, Alaska.
