The Painting Is A Montage Of Elements Relating To The Historic First Nonstop Flight Across The Continental United States On May 3, 1923. It Show Lts. Oakley G. Kelly And John A. Macready, Dirty And Exhausted Upon Arrival In San Diego. A Later Picture Shows Them Posing In Front Of Their Plane After They Have Rested And Cleaned Up. A Third Panel Features The Fokker T-2 F-Iv In Which They Made The Historic Flight. The Painting Also Incorporates Photo Stats Of The Adaptation Of The Plane From Smithsonian Institution Records.
