Description:
Having never heard of a Women's Air Reserve, I was surprised to find a negative in the picture files of Northrop Institute with that label. The group was made up of many well-known Southern Californian women pilots of the '30's, and was headed by Florence Pancho Barnes. The local March Field at Riverside, California, and the plane they are posing in front of is a Fokker F-14 Parasol. (Ambulance version of the Army YIC-14. The year was 1931.)
