Description:
This Painting Represents A Flight Of The Albree Scout 116 Over The Countryside In Long Island. At This Time It Was Based In Mineola, Long Island. It Was A Product Of American Experimentation With Military Aircraft At A Time When The Field Was Near Dominated By English And European Designs Born From Years Of Practical Experience. Unfortunately, It Is Not Generally Known To The American Public That A Great Amount Of Homegrown Aerial Experimentation Took Place During World War I, And That The Albree Scout Was An Example Of Such Effort. I Wished To Present This Particular Aircraft Due To Its Rarity And The Fact That It Represented An Experimental Craft Which Carried An Official American Insignia.
