My painting "Solo" is an effort to capture the moment when a young pilot candidate realized he has mastered the basics of flying and has the confidence to start his career as an Air Force pilot. The scene is over the Colorado desert, near Pueblo and the initial flight screening facility. The aircraft is a Diamond DA-20-C1, owned and operated by Doss Aviation, the contractor who runs the facility.
