Painting Was Made From A Series Of Kromes Taken October 8, 1975, At Eglin AFB, Florida. Depicted Is A Sikorsky Helicopter Of The 39th Aerospace Rescue And Recovery Wing. The Original HH-3 Was Developed To Facilitate Deep Jungle Penetration And Rescue In Vietnam And Was Called The Jolly Green Giant. The Craft Illustrated Is Probably The Larger, Faster, Super Jolly Green Giant, Of The HH-55 Series, Which Was Used Extensively In Southeast Asia. The 39th Wing Operates The Joint Rescue And Coordination Center For The Alaskan And U.S. Southern Command Areas.
