The First Prototype Built For The Royal Air Force Was Flown In October 1940 As The NA-73, And The Following May The First Production Model, Mustang I, Was Tested. The P-51b Flew Its First Bomber Escort Mission From England In December 1943, And By The Wars End All But One Of The 8th Air Force Fighter Escort Groups Were Flying The Mustang. It Was Also One Of The First Air Force Fighters To Serve In Korea.
