Since March 27, 1989, The 616th Aerial Port Squadron Has Flown Twenty-Three C-5 And C-141 Missions Into Elmendorf AFB, Alaska, To Assist In Cleaning Up The Nations Worst Oil Spill. They Have Delivered More Than 200,000 Pounds Of Specialized Cleanup Equipment, Including This 16,000 Pound Buoy From Exxon Facilities In Texas, California And Virginia. From Elmendorf, The Equipment Was Trucked To Valdez.
